Shirtcliffe Fellowship
The Shirtcliffe Fellowships aim is to assist graduates of New Zealand universitys in pursuing doctoral study at a university in New Zealand or other Commonwealth countrys.
This fellowship comes from a monetary gift made to the University of New Zealand in 1935 by Sir George Shirtcliffe of Wellington. George wanted to assist students of outstanding ability and character in the continuation of their studies in New Zealand or the Commonwealth.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- New Zealand citizens or Permanent Residents
- ordinarily resident in New Zealand
- New Zealand university graduates
- planning to register or be currently registered as a doctoral candidate at a university in New Zealand or other Commonwealth country.
Value and number awarded
$5,000 per year for up to three years
One scholarship is awarded each year.
