The Wellington North Rotary Scholarship Trust was established to mark the 25th anniversary of Wellington North Rotary in 1990 and incorporates a subsequent bequest from one of its members, the late Ian Crabtree.
Rotary Club of Wellington North Scholarships are awarded to help students in the greater Wellington region undertake tertiary study, vocational training or acquire new life skills. Study or training may be undertaken anywhere in Aotearoa New Zealand. Preference is given to applicants who are financially disadvantaged and therefore unable to undertake their study or training without scholarship assistance.
Equal consideration is given to candidates attending university, Te Pūkenga or vocational training/life skills training.
Eligibility
The scholarships are awarded annually to eligible candidates undertaking any undergraduate level study or training. This includes candidates enrolled in second or third year of an academic programme of study. Existing scholarship holders are eligible to reapply. Postgraduate study is excluded.
Value and number awarded
The value for each scholarship is between $1,000 and $7,000.
Up to 20 awards are available each year. Tenure is for one year.
