Universities New Zealand has made a submission to Parliament's Economic Development, Science and Innovation Committee on the Copyright (Marrakesh Treaty Implementation) Amendment Bill.
All eight universities support amendments to the Copyright Act 1994 as required for New Zealand to accede to the Marrakesh Treaty, as they believe this will significantly expand the availability of copyright works to the print disabled, but they do not support the inclusion of a commercial availability test.
