I am not satisfied with decisions made about my application. What can I do?
The scholarship I wanted to apply for closed a week ago, can I still apply?

A. Universities New Zealand has a policy relating to appeals on decisions made. You can read the policy here.
Q. The scholarship I wanted to apply for closed a week ago, can I still apply?
A. No. Closing dates for scholarship applications cannot be changed.
Q. I meet most of the eligibility criteria for the Scholarship but not all of the criteria listed in the regulations. Can I still apply?
A. Probably not. If you need guidance on understanding or interpreting an eligibility criterion please contact scholarships-cf@universitiesnz.ac.nz.
Q. I am applying for admission to an overseas university. Do I need to gain a place before I apply for a scholarship to help fund my studies?
A. No. But any offer of a scholarship or award will be dependent on you gaining admission to the university for which the scholarship offer is made.
Q. I applied for a scholarship last year. Can I get a copy of my application?
A. You are able to access all your applications using your log-in to the online application system https://universitiesnz.communityforce.com
Q. I applied for a number of Universities NZ administered scholarships, which are not co-tenable with each other. If successful, with more than one, how long do I have to accept/decline them?
A. In this situation Universities NZ will advise you on the conditions and the timing for accepting or declining scholarship offers.
Q. I am applying for several scholarships at the same time, can I send in just one set of accompanying documentation for all the applications?
A. No. Using the on-line applicationm system you must ensure that each application is complete and contains all the required documents for that application.
Q. I cannot find one of the documents which has to be sent in with my application. Will my application be considered without it?
A. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.
Q. You request that a "certified copy" of my academic records be included with my application. What is a certified copy?
A. A certified copy is a photocopy which has been certified by a solicitor, JP or school principal that it is a true copy of the original. The person certifying the document will also have to sight the original document.
Q. I applied for a scholarship a while back but haven't heard anything.
A. Following selection of a scholarship, all candidates are advised the outcome of their applications through the on-line application system. If you haven't heard anything yet, the selection process may not yet have been completed.
