The Edward & Isabel Kidson Scholarship
Is your strength physics or mathmatics or a combination of them both? This scholarship's aim is to enable scholars who have ability in these two subjects to further their study, or research, in meteorology. Other branches of science are acceptable however preference will be given to the further study of meteorology.
The funds for these scholarships are provided by the income from a bequest made to the University of New Zealand in 1959 by Isabel Maria Kidson, to enable New Zealand university graduates who have shown ability in physics or a combination of physics and mathematics to undertake postgraduate study in meteorology or some other branch of science, either in New Zealand or overseas.
Eligibility
Applicants should be graduates of a New Zealand university, be of good character and have shown ability in physics or a combination of physics and mathematics.
Preference will be given to (in order):
- past pupils of Nelson Boys' College
- graduates of the University of Canterbury.
Value and number awarded
$6,000 per annum for up to three years.
Up to three scholarships can be awarded each year.
