Universities New Zealand committees and working groups

Universities New Zealand facilitates committees made up of representatives from each university to :

  • support our statutory responsibilities under Section 241 of the Education Act: ie the Committee on University Academic Programmes (CUAP), its Sub-Committee on University Entrance, and the Scholarships Committee.
  • support our strategy and policy functions: the Research Committee, International Policy Committee and Te Kāhui Amokura (Committee on Māori).
  • contribute a sector-wide approach to decision-making, share information and best practice, and facilitate planning and collaboration to benefit all universities: ie the Council of New Zealand University Libraries (CONZUL), the Information and Communications Technology Committee (ICTC), the Human Resources Committee and the Facilities Management Committee.

Expert and Working Groups

Expert and Working Groups are established to advance the specific common interests of the universities - tracking graduate outcomes, implementing legislation, negotiating inter-university agreements with third parties etc.

As new issues arise on which the Vice-Chancellors wish to take collaborative action, short-life working groups with defined objectives and comprising relevant expertise, will be established.
